A meticulously executed realistic work, centered on a female figure reclining against a landscape with a suspended atmosphere. Alexis Díaz constructs the scene with a soft, enveloping light, where the body, the bluish folds of the fabric, and the surrounding vegetation blend into an image of stillness and restrained sensuality. The title, “Sleeping Beauty,” invites an interpretation that straddles the intimate and the symbolic, reinforcing the sense of reverie, fragility, and time standing still.

With a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Alexis Díaz has completed his training in the fields of realism and figuration, participating in the IV Antonio López Course on Realism and Figuration. His work focuses primarily on the figure, the urban landscape, and interiors, always grounded in a solid technical foundation and with special attention to light, atmosphere, and formal composition.

He has held solo exhibitions such as “Improntas Urbanas” at the Sant Joan d’Alacant Cultural Center, “Paisajes Urbanos” in Carcaixent and Aldaia, “Interiores” in Puerto de Sagunto and Alicante, and “Figuras” in Montcada. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions in Madrid, Valencia, Girona, and Alicante.

Among his accolades are the Castellón National Painting Prize in 2016, first prize in the 35th “El Piló” National Painting Competition, first prize in the 44th Quart de Poblet Visual Arts Competition, first prize in the Emilio Nadal International Painting Competition, as well as honorable mentions and selections in competitions such as the Carcaixent Painting Biennial, the Galarsa Prize, and the Antonio del Rincón National Drawing Prize.
