The piece presents a circular structure with a richly decorated perimeter frame, composed of a succession of scalloped lobes that evoke the silhouette of a stylized flower. Each of these lobes is meticulously ornamented.
Twentieth-century Turkish silverware continues a heritage of craftsmanship that has its roots in the Ottoman imperial workshops, known for their exceptional skill in metalworking. Despite the changes introduced by modernity and industrialization, the manufactures of this era retained the traditional values of the craft: precision in detail, control in the execution of decorative techniques and an ornamental sense that does not renounce sober elegance.
