Weight: 900 g.
Measurements: 24 x 13 cm (each one).
Pair of silver candlesticks of one light, made following a design of clear classicist inspiration. Both pieces have a staggered circular base, with a wide and stable profile, on which rises a fluted shaft as a classical column, articulated by rings and moldings that provide rhythm and verticality to the whole. The upper part ends in a candle holder of sober and well-proportioned lines, reinforcing the general harmony of the design.
The whole responds fully to the Charles IV style, characterized by the search for symmetry, balance of proportions and ornamental restraint. The decoration is limited to classically inspired elements, such as grooves and moldings, dispensing with curvilinear or excessively ornate motifs, which accentuates the formal elegance and the prominence of the material itself. This aesthetic language was developed during a period of great splendor of craftsmanship, in which technical quality, precision in design and the nobility of the materials reached one of their highest moments, turning pieces such as this pair of candlesticks into a true masterpiece.
