Measurements: 17 x 10,5 cm.
Pair of silver candlesticks of one light, made following a sober and balanced design typical of the Carlos IV style. Each piece is articulated from a staggered circular base, of wide and stable profile, on which rises a cylindrical shaft of refined lines, slightly balustraded in its transition to the base and topped at the top by a candle holder with molded edge.
The decoration is restrained and of clear classicist inspiration, limited to discreet ring moldings and small incised motifs on the upper part of the shaft, avoiding any ornamental excess. This treatment responds to the neoclassical taste characteristic of the period, where symmetry, proportion and purity of form take on an essential role, leaving the shine and quality of the metal to define the whole.
These candlesticks are fully inscribed within the silverware of the Charles IV style, developed at a time of great splendor of craftsmanship, in which technical excellence and formal elegance are combined to give rise to functional and refined pieces, representative of the enlightened taste of the late eighteenth century.
