In the Baroque devotional context, dressing the images was a widespread practice. The sculptures of the Infant Jesus, frequently articulated and dressed in textile garments, also received metallic accessories such as crowns, scepters, potencies and sandals. These huaraches, finely worked with ornamental motifs in relief, demonstrate the technical virtuosity of the goldsmith and the importance of materiality in the expression of faith. The detailed decorative work, probably of vegetal and rocaille inspiration, is inscribed in the aesthetic language of the late baroque.
