An elegant decorative silver box made in Spain during the 1970s, inspired by the geometric lines and refinement of the Art Deco style. Its design is distinguished by a dynamic relief of radial ribs that converge toward the clasp, creating an attractive interplay of light and shadow on the polished surface. The lid is topped by a red cabochon, which provides a subtle chromatic hallmark and enhances the piece’s sophisticated character. The symmetrical composition and meticulous craftsmanship reflect the reinterpretation of the Art Deco style characteristic of mid-20th-century Spanish goldsmithing.
During the 1970s, Art Deco experienced a renewed interest in Spain within the decorative arts and design. Rather than a continuation of the original movement of the 1920s and 1930s, it was a reinterpretation of its aesthetic, adapted to contemporary tastes. Silversmiths, jewelers, and designers revived its characteristic geometric lines, symmetry, and stylized reliefs, combining them with a more modern and refined craftsmanship.
