The firm Boucheron is a world reference within the high watchmaking and jewelry. This French brand has its origins in Frederic Boucheron, who in 1858 opened his store in the Valois Gallery, with Napoleon III in power. Six years later he opened his jewelry workshop and only a year later he was awarded a prize at the Universal Exhibition of 1867. To speak of Boucheron is to speak of Place Vendôme, undoubtedly one of the benchmarks in the world of Parisian luxury. This firm was the first to open a jewelry store in this square, specifically at number 26, which became a place of reference for the upper classes of Paris and, little by little, for the nobility of Europe. In 1876, Grand Duke Alexander, the future Tsar Alexander III, and his wife Maria Feodorovna, entered the boutique to purchase a watch on a chain adorned with diamonds. To attract good luck, the Grand Duke asked the sum of two functions, two details on the jewel: a crown and his personal lucky number. Since then, Boucheron creations are like talismans.
