Inscriptions: “ROLEX / OYSTER PERPETUAL / DATE” and “SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER / OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED.” Date window at 3 o’clock with Cyclops magnifying lens. Acrylic/Plexiglas crystal.

The Oyster Perpetual Date, Ref. 1500, is one of Rolex’s classic models from the 1960s and 1970s. With its 34 mm diameter, it brought the brand’s key technical and aesthetic attributes into a more compact format: the Oyster case, the Perpetual automatic movement, a date window with a Cyclops lens, and official chronometer certification. Its smooth bezel, silver dial, and Oyster bracelet form a configuration that is particularly representative of Rolex’s functional and refined design during this period. The Ref. 1500 remained in production for approximately two decades and is today prized as one of the purest and most versatile expressions of the vintage Rolex Date.
