DESCRIPTION
ARCANAUT ARC II Watch with Fordite Dial.
Made of steel. Circular Fordite dial, also known as Detroit agate (a unique material created in auto paint shops in the mid-20th century. It is not a natural stone, but rather layers of dried paint accumulated during the car painting process in factories. Today, Fordite is used primarily in jewelry thanks to its distinctive appearance, which resembles the patterns found in agate.) Sword-style hands. Sapphire crystal. Rectangular crown at the 3 o’clock position. Turquoise rubber strap with buckle clasp; both are original Arcanaut components. Automatic movement. It works.
Measurements: 44 mm (case diameter).
The Arcanaut ARC II with a Fordite dial (ARCII-FD) is a bold and artistic watch that transforms industrial history into wearable art. Its most striking feature is the Fordite dial—a testament to automotive heritage crafted from fragments of cured, layered paint sourced from classic car assembly lines—which reveals swirling patterns in shades of blue, white, orange, and black that evoke abstract ocean waves or a cosmic nebula.
When the description of a watch states “it works,” it means the watch is functioning. Since collector’s watches typically have delicate and complex mechanisms, the buyer is responsible for any general servicing, inspection, battery replacement, adjustment, or repair that may be necessary. We do not guarantee the perfect functioning of any watch. All photographs of our watches are original and have been taken by our photographers; in other words, we do not use stock photography, which is why the photographs are considered part of the cataloging.
