DESCRIPTION
Ship captain costume and mannequin from the early XX century.
Head and hands in papier mache.
Exhibits wear consistent with age and use.
Needs restoration.
Measurements: 180 x 30 x 30 cm.
Ship captain's uniform from the end of the early twentieth century, on a life-size mannequin from the same period. The head and hands (the only visible parts of the mannequin) are made of papier-mache. Large blue eyes and a barely hinted smile animate a face of harmonious features, bordered by straight blond hair. The navy-blue suit with gold stripes, epaulettes and buttons seems to identify a merchant marine captain's wardrobe from the first decade of the twentieth century.
