The anime series Dr. Slump, created by Akira Toriyama, is one of the most influential and unique comedies of Japanese animation. Set in the eccentric Penguin Village, the story follows the adventures of scientist Senbei Norimaki and his most famous creation, the android Arale Norimaki, a girl with enormous strength and a boundless innocence that leads to absurd and hilarious situations.
First aired in 1981, the series is characterized by its surreal humor, full of puns, breaking the fourth wall and cultural references. Toriyama builds a universe where the everyday is mixed with the fantastic: talking animals, impossible inventions and extravagant characters coexist in a narrative without rules, where the unpredictable is the norm.
