This exquisite octagonal jewelry box is distinguished by the luxurious "savoir faire" of its decoration. On one side we find enameled porcelain plates from Vincennes (now Sèvres), considered one of the most important and recognized in Europe thanks to its quality and refinement, becoming a symbol of luxury and prestige in the eighteenth century. These are embellished with enameled floral motifs and topped by delicate flowers in relief. These plates run along each of the sides of the octagon, as well as the center and ends of the upper lid, and are outlined by garlands and reliefs in gilded bronze that define the structure of the case. As we can see inside, the mechanism of this type of Napoleonic boxes worked with a rotating cylinder mechanism that pressed pins or metal sheets, producing a melody.
