DESCRIPTION
JAVIER MARISCAL (Valencia, 1950) for Bidasoa.
Two plates.
Ceramic.
Stamps on the back.
Measurements: 30 cm (diameter).
The relationship between Bidasoa (the historic Spanish porcelain and ceramics company) and designer Javier Mariscal is a remarkable example of the collaboration between traditional craft industry and contemporary Spanish design, which occurred mainly in the last decades of the 20th century. The collaboration developed when Mariscal was already a prominent figure, known for his vibrant and casual style, which contrasted with Bidasoa's classic tradition.
