As we can see, Christian Lacroix is known for revolutionizing haute couture with a baroque, luxurious, youthful and colorful style. Born in Arles, France, he was influenced by Provençal culture, bullfighting and gypsy folklore from a young age. In the late 1970s, he began working for the Hermès fashion company (1978), and in 1981 he joined the French fashion house Jean Patou. His style, characterized by the use of bright colors, luxury and perfection in finishing, made him popular. In January 1987, he won the award for Most Influential Foreign Designer from the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
