Pair of porcelain wine glasses decorated by Dalí. These are pieces that combine art, design and surrealist symbolism, transferring the Dalinian imaginary to an object of daily or ritual use.
On the body appears a winged figure playing a trumpet, evoking the Greek Hermes in his relationship with Trismegistus, where the dreamlike, the mythological and the theatrical, constants in the artist's iconography, are combined. Below the figure is a circular medallion with a schematic face, treated almost as an emblem or personal seal, accompanied by the signature "Dalí" and the date 1978, integrated into the decoration.
The vivid polychrome, applied with a loose and gestural stroke, contrasts with the white background of the porcelain, while the gilded details have a luxurious and ceremonial character, underlining the value of the piece as a collector's item rather than a functional utensil.
Most of Dalí's production is gathered in the Dalí Theater-Museum in Figueras, followed by the collection of the Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg (Florida), the Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Salvador Dalí Gallery in Pacific Palisades (California), the Espace Dalí in Montmartre (Paris) or the Dalí Universe in London.
