An elegant example of French art glass from the Art Deco period, this vase by André Hunebelle presents a balanced ovoid body enriched by a dynamic relief of garlands. The motif, composed of concentric circles, cascades down from the neck to the base, integrating harmoniously into the structure. The sepia patina accentuates the volumes and generates a subtle play of light that enhances the depth of the design.

Hunebelle began his career as a decorator and designer, to become a master glassmaker in the mid-1920s. His first documented exhibition took place in Paris in 1927, where he presented the piece Fruit & Foliage. Recognized for his clean, elegant lines and strong formal presence, he marketed his production in a luxurious store located at number 2 Avenue Victor-Emmanuel III, at the Champs-Elysées traffic circle. The molds of his models were made by Etienne Franckhauser - also a collaborator of Lalique and Sabino - and the manufacture was carried out in the glassworks of Choisy-le-Roi. His establishment ceased its activity in 1938, shortly before the outbreak of World War II.

The "Garlands" model fully synthesizes the modern aesthetics of the interwar period, combining formal purity, ornamental rhythm and technical excellence.
