Important glazed ceramic vase of ovoid format, made by the renowned manufacture Primavera, one of the key firms in the development of the French decorative arts of the twentieth century. The piece stands out for its elegant organic silhouette of great formal purity, covered by an intense turquoise green glaze on which descend generous casts in shades of black, petroleum blue and rusty green. The result is a surface of great expressive force, where matter and color acquire a marked sculptural prominence.
This vase reflects post-war ceramic research linked to the French organic and modernist currents of the mid-20th century, in which experimentation with glazes and firing reactions became a central element of the artistic language. Crystallizations, tonal variations and fusion effects reinforce its visual richness and unique character.
Signed on the base "PRIMAVERA / 13338 / FRANCE", it constitutes a piece of remarkable collector interest. atelier primavera
Atelier Primavera (also known as Atelier Primavera au Printemps) was the first in-house design studio created by a Parisian department store, founded in September 1912 by Pierre Laguionie (director of the Grands Magasins du Printemps department store) and the lawyer René Guilleré. The main objective of this studio was to revolutionize the decorative arts in France by designing modern, elegant and affordable furniture and objects for the growing middle class.
