A pair of monumental vases with lids in the Sèvres style, made of glazed porcelain with chiseled bronze mounts. Ovoid in shape, the body is finished in an intense sky-blue glaze, against which a large central panel stands out, framed by borders and rocaille motifs. Inside these medallions are depictions of landscapes, featuring idyllic views of mountains, forests, and lakes inspired by Romanticism. The set is enhanced with bronze accents: curved handles, acanthus-leaf clamps at the base of the vessel, and a quadrangular pedestal upon which the circular foot rests.

The distinctive sky-blue background represents one of the greatest technical and aesthetic contributions of the Royal Sèvres Manufactory, founded around 1753 by the chemist Jean-Hellot for King Louis XV and the Marquise de Pompadour. Its development marked a true revolution in 18th-century European ceramics, becoming the undisputed hallmark of French distinction and luxury. Given the tremendous commercial success and international influence of this shade, numerous European manufacturers in the 19th and 20th centuries systematically emulated and reproduced this glaze, applying it to vases, centerpieces, and decorative pieces in the Neoclassical and Rococo styles within the coveted “Sèvres-style” tradition.
