Hevia was an outstanding watercolorist. He made numerous exhibitions both in Spain and in various European and American countries. Among his most notable works is a monographic study in watercolor on the Pilgrims' Roads to Santiago. His talent was recognized with the Silver Medal of the first Biennial of Art of Pontevedra, as well as the Gold Medals of the Concello de Santiago and the Diputación de A Coruña, and the prestigious Castelao Medal.
