Pilarín Bayes studied at the Real Academia Catalana de Bellas Artes de San Jordi in Barcelona from 1959 to 1964. Her drawings are characterized by a childish and naive tone but at the same time full of grace and irony, with a very personal style. She has been closely linked to the magazine Cavall Fort, in which she has collaborated since 1964, and has also illustrated many didactic or narrative books, hallelujahs, posters, etc, such as El meu pardal (1964), from the publishing house La Galera, with the support of the pedagogue Marta Mata. In the 1970s she was also linked to the Catalan publishing house Martín Casanovas, illustrating its collection of books on Catalonia and the Aucas of the publishing house, although her production is mainly aimed at children and young people, she has also published cartoons in newspapers (El Correo Catalán, Oriflama, El 9 Nou). In 1991 he received the Creu de Sant Jordi. His exhibitions include the anthological exhibition "Benvinguts al Circ de la Pilarín" at the Museo d'art de la pell, a journey through his professional career.
