Throughout his career, José Cuervo Viña carried out an extensive exhibition activity, with numerous solo exhibitions since 1973 in galleries and cultural centers in Asturias -especially in Gijón, Oviedo, Avilés and Candás- as well as in other Spanish cities such as Madrid, Lugo, Valencia, La Coruña or Santoña, maintaining a continued presence in galleries such as Tioda, Murillo and Chagall until well into the 2010's. He also participated in important group exhibitions, especially in Gijón, Oviedo, Avilés and Candás. He also participated in important group exhibitions, especially linked to the field of watercolor, taking part in national and international symposiums and biennials in Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Tarragona, Mexico City, Aranjuez, Santiago de Compostela, Segovia and Madrid, as well as traveling exhibitions and presentations of the Niebla Group. His work was recognized with several awards, including several first and second prizes in outdoor painting contests in Infiesto, distinctions in national competitions, a special mention in the III International Watercolor Biennial of the Ateneo Jovellanos and the selection to illustrate a month of the international calendar Hahnemühle 2011, confirming both the constancy of his career and the appreciation obtained in the field of watercolor.
