DESCRIPTION
RICARD MARTÍ AGUILÓ (Barcelona, 1868 - 1936).
"Portrait of an old woman".

Measurements: 49 x 37 cm; 64 x 53 cm (frame).
Female portrait of strong introspective character. The artist pays special attention to the psychological expression, transmitting a sensation of recollection and silent dignity.
Ricard Martí trained at the Escuela de la Lonja in Barcelona and in the workshop of his father, the painter Ramon Martí Alsina. He held several exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions, and participated in various artistic competitions, such as the International Exhibition of Barcelona in 1929. He won a gold medal at the Barcelona Exhibition of 1896, and a second medal at the Spanish National Exhibition held in Mexico in 1910. He was also a professor of drawing and painting in the town of Grecia. He is currently represented in various private collections.
