DESCRIPTION
EDGAR PLANS (Madrid, 1977)
"Factories".
Waxes, watercolor and pencil on paper.
Signed and titled.
Measurements: 9 x 6,5 cm (work); 8 x 6 cm (work); 27 x 36 cm (frame).
Set of two small compositions on paper in which Edgar Plans develops his characteristic visual language of simplified forms and vibrant chromatism. The artist resorts to free contours, superimposed textures and an intense palette to build scenes of naive appearance that refer to the narrative universe of his work, where urban references, characters and symbolic elements coexist, treated with an aesthetic close to urban art and children's imaginary.
Edgar Plans trained from a young age in the workshop of the artist José María Ramos and developed his own studio in Gijón at an early age.
Throughout his career he has participated in numerous exhibitions and international fairs, including Art Paris, Art Miami, Art Taipei, London Art Fair and KIAF (Seoul). His work is part of prominent public and private collections, including the Museum of Contemporary Art of Havana, the Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias, LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial, La Caixa Foundation and the María Cristina Masaveu Peterson Foundation.
