This work is part of a series made by the Catalan painter Joan Martí Aragonés, inspired by the famous opera Otello, particularly in the interpretations starring Plácido Domingo and Katia Ricciarelli, two of the most emblematic voices of the international operatic scene of the twentieth century.
Martí Aragonés trained with Nolasc Valls and at the School of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi, and finally extended his studies in Italy and France. Throughout his career he has been awarded the First International Prize of Tossa de Mar, the First Prize of the Centenary of "La Vanguardia", the Van Gogh Drawing Prize, the International Prizes of Palamós, Cala Canyellas, Calella de Mar, Hospitalet, Fiesta de Tura, Pueblo Español, Cornellá, Arenys de Munt, Mataró and Manresa, among many others. His work is present in the Museum of Tossa de Mar, the Museum of Arenys de Mar and the Museum of Modern Art of Olot, as well as in numerous private collections.
