The drawing shows a naked child of soft and rounded forms, with a light cloth that barely covers his body. His posture is frontal but relaxed, with a serene gesture and a direct look that generates an immediate connection with the viewer. This treatment of the child's body is reminiscent of Renaissance cherubs, where innocence and divinity merge into a single image. The work presents a delicate representation of idealized childhood, framed within an artistic tradition that draws from both religious art and 19th century European academicism.
The decorative background, with floral motifs and stylized curves, frames the figure as if it were a stained glass or ornamental panel, giving it an almost sacred air. This resource not only highlights the central character, but also suggests a symbolic or decorative function of the work, possibly linked to a religious or domestic context. From the formal point of view, the use of chiaroscuro to model the volume of the body stands out, as well as the firm line that delimits contours and structures the composition.
