This watercolor exemplifies a particularly free and gestural style characteristic of Luis Feito, for whom works on paper constituted an important field of experimentation parallel to painting. The composition is structured by broad blue and black strokes, set against intense pink and violet accents, while the fluidity of the watercolor creates transparencies, overlays, and concentrations of pigment. The empty spaces on the paper, the splatters, and the spontaneity of the brushwork reinforce a tension between form, color, and space that is characteristic of his abstract language. The significance of this body of work on paper was evident in the retrospective *Feito: Works 1952–2002* at the Reina Sofía Museum, which brought together numerous works created in watercolor, acrylic, oil, and Indian ink.

Luis Feito was a key figure in Spanish abstraction during the second half of the 20th century and a founding member of the El Paso group in 1957. Based in Paris since 1956, he developed an international career linked to Informalism, evolving from his early textured surfaces toward a progressive formal simplification and increasing chromatic intensity. The Reina Sofía Museum dedicated a major retrospective to him in 2002 and holds several of his works in its collection. His body of work is also represented in international institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York.
