WILLY DARO (Belgium, active between the 50s and 90s).
Pair of table lamps, 1980s.
Gilded bronze.
Signed.

Measurements: 24 x 11 x 58 cm.
This pair of table lamps has Willy Daro's own and totally original imprint. The organic and irregular shapes of the shaft contrast with the quadrangular base with sharp edges.
Unfortunately, little biographical information is known about the Belgian designer Willy Daro. We do know that, during the 1950s and 1970s, he worked in the field of design and lighting. Owner of Les Nouveaux Ateliers, Willy Daro worked in Brussels from 1960 to 1987. His pieces are elegant and full of movement, and he often used agate as the dramatic focal point, a very fashionable stone during the 1960s.
