BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
Armchair style LINA BO BARDI (Rome, 1914-Säo Paulo, 1992). France, 1950s.
Short bouclé upholstery. Beautiful "boomerang" lines.
Measurements: 70 x 56 x 70 cm.
The lines of this armchair are inspired by the creations of Lina Bo Bardi, representative designer of the Modern Movement in the Brazilian architecture of the 20th century. Fluid lines devoid of angular profiles make up the seat and backrest, following the most avant-garde models of the 1950s. Function and aesthetics combine to create a comfortable and captivating armchair.
After training in Italy, Lina Bo Bardi moved to Rio de Janeiro, where she was enchanted by the city's nature and its Modern Movement buildings. In 1957 she began the construction of the MASP (São Paulo Museum of Art), which was completed in 1962 after numerous interruptions and received high praise from the international architectural community.
