BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

JEAN-CLAUDE DUBOYS (France).
Pair of folding stools "A4". Design 1970's.
Attitude edition, 1980's.
Maple.
Measurements: 55 x 40 x 44 cm.

In the 1970's, Jean-Claude Duboys designed a collection of furniture in solid maple, folding and modular. In the early 1980s they were produced by Maison Attitude. Some of them are now part of the collection of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. The death of the author brought their production to a sudden halt, after having participated in international furniture fairs in 1982. The curved seat guarantees comfort while giving them a handcrafted finish.

After studying interior architecture at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, Duboys quickly established himself as an emerging designer. His unique and innovative style earned him early recognition in the design industry. During the 1980s and 1990s, Jean-Claude Duboys worked for several architecture and design firms, where he honed his skills and contributed to the creation of many notable projects. His creative talent and ability to combine materials, shapes and colors made him a sought-after designer. Duboys became known for his bold and experimental approach to design. He constantly sought new ideas and techniques to push the boundaries of creativity. His style was characterized by clean lines, organic forms and an intelligent use of light and space. Over the years, Jean-Claude Duboys' creations have been exhibited at numerous design fairs and galleries around the world. His furniture and interior architecture concepts have attracted the attention of art and design enthusiasts as well as industry professionals. In addition to his work as a designer, Duboys has taught design classes at several renowned institutions. He has shared his knowledge and experience with young aspiring designers, thus contributing to the evolution of the design field. Jean-Claude Duboys has received numerous awards throughout his career, including the prestigious Prix du Design International in 2005 for one of his furniture collections. His work continues to influence and inspire designers and design enthusiasts around the world.
