BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
Bank. France, ca. 1970.
In stainless steel.
Measurements: 140 x 40 x 41 cm.
Representative piece of the European design of the seventies, inscribed in the minimalist current of industrial inspiration. Its structure is composed of four flat sheets of polished stainless steel, arranged in parallel and welded with geometric precision to form a strictly rectangular silhouette. The upper, wider sheet serves as a seat; the two vertical side sheets act as support and aesthetic containment, while the lower sheet stabilizes the whole, acting as a base and visual counterweight. The piece manifests a deliberate formal economy, characteristic of French post-functionalist design, where the industrial material is exhibited as an expressive element in its own right.
