BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
ADRIANO PIAZZESI (Florence, 1923-2009).
Pair of Mid-Century armchairs, c. 1970.
Black leather.
Chrome-plated tubular metal frame.
They show slight signs of wear consistent with use and age.
Measurements: 83 x 105 x 97 cm; 44 cm seat height.
Pair of wide and enveloping armchairs designed by Adriano Piazzesi in the seventies, entirely upholstered in black leather, with a soft texture that contrasts with the chromed tubular skeleton that runs along the waist of the furniture, thus playing with the disparity of materials and qualities. It is a design of rounded shapes and rounded volumes, cozy and comfortable, with a structure of traditional base but reread in a modern key through the purification of forms.
Designer, painter and sculptor, Adriano Piazzesi investigates the relationship between the object and the user; for him design is not an accessory, but an integral part of marketing and production in which artistic sensibility and projective aptitude can be used.
