BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
Pair of "Visiteur" style armchairs by JEAN PROUVÉ (France, 1901-1984). France, 1950s.
Iron and wood.
Measurements: 95 x 67 x 90 cm.
The seductive power of this pair of armchairs lies in its unconventional design based on the use of wooden slats, a creation inspired by Prouvé's Visiteur chair (designed by the Italian in 1942 and, for the moment, not reedited). Jean Prouvé was a French industrial designer known for his functional and modular approach to furniture and structural design. His work was characterized by the use of materials such as steel and wood, and by the creation of building systems that could be adapted to different needs and contexts.
