ALBERTO MEDA (Como, 1945) and PAOLO RIZZATO for Luceplan.
Lamp "Lola", 1987.
Aluminum.
This model was awarded the Compasso d'Oro Prize in 1989.
Measurements: 160 x 48 cm.
The Lola lamp was one of the iconic pieces that Alberto Meda realized in collaboration with Paolo Rizzato for Luceplan. It is an essential, minimalist form that provides subtle, indirect lighting. It rises on an aluminum tripod and is topped with a triangle that houses the reflector on the upper side.
Alberto Meda trained at the Polytechnic University of Milan, and after graduating he will work for Kartel. He later collaborated as a freelance designer for important firms such as Philips, Alessia, Alias, Olivetti and Vitra, among others. Since the eighties he has combined his activity with teaching. His designs are currently part of important collections such as that of the MoMA in New York.
