Dining table with a daring postmodern aesthetic, designed by Oscar Tusquets and manufactured by Casas in 1985. We tendered the original model, in its first edition: with the wooden base painted black. Tusquets set himself the challenge of designing a table whose legs would not get in the way when people sat around it. Initially it was to complement the Varius chair, which he presented the previous year. The glass top is characterized by its combi sides (concave along the length, convex at the ends) that can accommodate up to ten chairs. The set boasts an organic-inspired aesthetic (suggesting a bat-winged creature), but at the same time its structure is reduced to geometric elements. This combination of ergonomics, expressiveness and unique structure makes "Alada" an icon of Spanish postmodern design, and explains its inclusion in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

Óscar Tusquets is an architect, painter and designer, trained at the Escuela de La Lonja in Barcelona and the ETSAB. In 1964 he founded Studio PER with Lluís Clotet, with whom he collaborated regularly until 1984. During this period he participated in the enlargement of the Faculty of Medicine in Barcelona (1980) and in the remodeling of the Palau de la Música Catalana (1982). In 1987 he teamed up with the architect Carlos Díaz, with whom he carried out projects in various countries, including Japan and Germany. He has been awarded the Delta de Oro del FAD prize on several occasions, and in 1987 he received the Sant Jordi Cross.
