Pair of Murano blown glass chandeliers, designed in 1984 by the renowned Italian architect and designer Cini Boeri for the historic firm Venini. These pieces are an eloquent example of the fusion between traditional craftsmanship and modern language, typical of Italian design in the late twentieth century. Executed in Murano blown glass. The lamps have refined volumes and a silhouette of clean lines, which combine formal sobriety with a strong sculptural presence. The transparency of the material, together with its subtle light modulation, enhances the ethereal character of the design and generates a delicate interaction between light, form and space.
Italian designer Cini Boeri studied at the Politecnico di Milano, graduating in 1951. She began her professional activity independently in 1963, after a period of collaboration with Marco Zanuso, and dedicated herself to working in architecture and design. He has designed houses, apartments and commercial premises both in Italy and abroad, paying particular attention to the functionality of space in small houses, as well as to the psychological relationships between man and his environment. Examples of his work can now be seen in museums and exhibitions around the world. Throughout her career she has received numerous awards, including the Compasso d'Oro in 1979 and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles in 2008.
