DESCRIPTION
Sideboard; Belgium, c. 1930
Oak wood, partially polychromed and gilded.
With key
Measurements: 95 x 120 x 38 cm.
Sideboard made of oak wood, dated 1930s and belonging to the Art Deco movement. The front is composed of two hinged doors, built with beveled stretcher frame and panel. The latter are decorated with a polychrome geometric composition, in which ebonized wood fillets and applications in the form of golden spheres are arranged. This ornamentation introduces a dynamic contrast that breaks the sobriety of the design and provides visual movement.
Inside, the cabinet is organized on two levels, divided by a central shelf. The piece, with its restrained lines, combines the solidity of the oak with the decorative richness of the panels.
