Set consists of six chairs. The Alladin chair, designed by Sam Avedon in the 1960s, is a paradigmatic example of mid-20th century modernist design, when experimentation with new materials and the search for clean, functional lines transformed domestic furniture into a true objet d'art.
Made of plastic with a black lacquered metal structure, the piece combines visual lightness with strength, reflecting the interest of post-war design in producing accessible, durable objects adapted to contemporary life. The blue, far from being a mere decorative device, accentuates the playful, optimistic character that defined much of the aesthetic of the 1960s. Its shiny surface catches the light, making the chair function not only as a utilitarian object, but also as a sculptural element in space.
