BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
Pair of table lamps in the style of Pierre Giraudon (1923-2012), 1970s.
Resin and steel.
Measurements: 75 x 20 x 20 cm.
Precursor, inventor, scientist and eclectic artist, Pierre Giraudon devoted more than fifty years of his life to this fusion work. In the 1980s, the work undertaken by Pierre Giraudon continued with his daughter Constance. She brings a more personal and dreamlike touch, where reality and fantasy mix. Since her father's death, Constance Giraudon has devoted herself exclusively to artistic creation.
During the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, she created sculptures, lamp bases and objects in colored resin with or without inclusions. Parallel to his personal creations, he works for César. However, Pierre Giraudon still rejects the label of artist because he considers himself first and foremost a biologist.
