BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

STEFAN DIEZ (Freiburg, Germany, 1971) for e15.
Set of six "Houdini CH04" armchairs, design year 2009.
Lacquered oak wood.
Brand new, with original packaging.
Measurements: 78 x 57 x 53 cm; 46 cm (seat height).

Dining set consists of six chairs made of lacquered oak wood. The Houdini chair with armrests belongs to the renowned seating family developed by the German industrial designer Stefan Diez. This collection, initially conceived for the firm e15, has established itself as a benchmark of contemporary design thanks to its balance between formal innovation, constructive precision and ergonomic functionality.
The HOUDINI design is characterized by a distinctive visual language, based on the reinterpretation of traditional joinery techniques through contemporary industrial processes. Its light and sturdy structure, made of molded wood veneer, stands out for the continuous curvature of the backrest and armrests, as well as for a wide seat that provides a comfortable and long-lasting user experience.
Stefan Diez trained as a cabinetmaker before studying Industrial Design at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. After collaborating with renowned designers such as Richard Sapper and Konstantin Grcic, he founded his own studio, Diez Office, in Munich in 2003. His work focuses on sustainability, the exploration of new materials and the creation of efficient production systems. Diez has won numerous international awards and his designs are part of the permanent collections of several design museums.
