This lamp in tender is an excellent example of the Space Age design characteristic of the 70s and 80s. It rests on a circular marble base and its curved shaft branches out to support five "satellites" that function as lampshades, evoking a cosmic aesthetic.

Space Age is the name given to the period in which the space race was launched, beginning in 1957 with the launch of Sputnik. This fever to conquer space also reached design, and during the sixties and seventies a decoration model was developed based on an idyllic vision of the future, and everything to do with spaceships, new technologies and innovative materials.
