The "Bonanza" stool was designed in the late 1960s by Esko Pajamies for the firm ASKO. Made of solid oak, it stands out for its structural solidity and the elegant simplicity that characterizes Scandinavian design of the mid-20th century.
The stool has four rectangular, slightly flattened legs that rise and extend continuously towards the bottom of the seat. These extensions, which function as an integrated structural frame, form a clean, graphic support that is very characteristic of Pajamies' language. On this base rests a circular, soft seat, recently reupholstered in a high-quality bouclé fabric by Pierre Frey, providing a rich texture that dialogues with the warmth of the oak.
Esko Pajamies, an interior designer and also a jazz trumpeter, established his studio in Helsinki in 1961. His work was instrumental in defining Asko's aesthetic line, fusing constructive precision, comfort and a minimalist approach ahead of its time.
