This pair of diabolo wall sconces is a vibrant testament to European mid-century design. Although of Italian manufacture, the piece pays clear homage to the technique patented by Mathieu Matégot, fusing the elegance of color with the functionality of textured light.
One of the cones of each diabolo is made of rigitulle (mesh-like perforated aluminum). This allows light to filter through the weave, creating a delicate play of shadows and geometric projections on the wall.
The dobloe cone joined by a black central ring is also an iconic 1950s design that adds dynamism and modernity. The vibrant red lacquer contrasts with the black details and brass threads, materials that denote the construction quality of the era.
