The clock presented for bidding is a visual dialogue between two iconic trends of the twentieth century: the Space Age aesthetic and the Memphis movement. The piece inherits the futuristic optimism of the Space Age in its forms, while its palette of hallmarks and expressive geometry refer directly to the chromatic rupture and playful spirit of the collective founded by the Memphis movement.
Nicolai Canetti is a product designer, graphic designer and photographer, known for being the founder of Canetti Design Group, a studio based in New York since the late 20th century; his work is characterized by a contemporary and postmodern aesthetic that combines functionality and artistic expression, and encompasses everyday objects such as watches, frames, accessories and decorative pieces, many of them recognized for their formal innovation, their honest use of materials and their minimalist approach with a sculptural character, which has allowed him to establish himself as a relevant figure in international product design.
