The FK10 recliner by Preben Fabricius & Jørgen Kastholm, conceived in the 1960s, is a magnificent example of the most refined Danish design, where functionality meets timeless elegance. Its structure combines wood and metal with a studied lightness, while the beige upholstery and brown leather straps add warmth and handcrafted sophistication.
Designed as a seat and lounging stool, its sloping, enveloping silhouette reflects the Scandinavian quest for essential comfort. An iconic and exclusive piece, in almost impeccable condition, it embodies the perfect balance between modernity, fine materials and signature design.
Preben Fabricius and Jørgen Kastholm formed in the 1960s one of the most emblematic collaborations in Danish design, combining the craftsmanship of the cabinetmaker with interior design training and the influence of masters such as Finn Juhl. Their joint work, marked by minimalism, the quality of materials and an ideal of timeless beauty inspired by Eames and Mies van der Rohe, gave rise to classics in steel, leather and wood that reached international renown after his time in Germany with Alfred Kill.
His designs were presented in major exhibitions such as the MoMA in New York and the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris in 1967, and today they are part of outstanding collections at the MACBA in Barcelona, the MoMA, the Neue Sammlung in Munich, the Kunstindustrimuseum in Berlin and the Design Center in Stuttgart, consolidating his legacy as a benchmark of Scandinavian modernism.
