Table lamp attributed to Yasha Heifetz, a key figure in American lighting design in the mid-twentieth century and founder of the Heifetz Manufacturing Company (New York, 1938). His production, linked to Californian modernism and mid-century language, is characterized by conceiving the lamp as a functional yet sculptural object.
Such pieces combine craftsmanship in wood and noble materials, with biomorphic forms inspired by nature, in line with the organic and sophisticated aesthetics that made the firm recognizable. Heifetz actively contributed to the dissemination of modern design, even participating as a juror in competitions promoted by MoMA in the 1950s.
