CARLO NASON (Italy, 1935).
Ceiling lamp "Medusa", ca. 1960-1970.
Composed of four independent shades of Murano blown glass.

Finial and fittings in chromed metal.

Measurements: 48 x 40 X 40 cm.
Ceiling lamp in Murano blown glass, composed of several interlocking structures that generate a bulbous and organic form of great formal purity. Its synthetic and modern approach is part of the Italian design experimentation of the 60s and 70s, when the lighting adopts sculptural and enveloping volumes of space age inspiration.
Designed by Carlo Nason, born in Murano into a historic family of glassmakers, the piece reflects his deep mastery of traditional techniques and his contemporary artistic sensibility. His work is today present in international museums and private collections.
