Hans J. Wegner desk, model PP 312, designed for PP Møbler in 1981. Made of solid ash wood, this desk combines an elegant and functional design that reflects high quality craftsmanship. The wide rectangular top provides ample work space. Beneath the top is a skirt with two spacious drawers, practically designed with integrated handles, which enhances the refined and sublime design of the desk.
The PP 312 model is virtually identical to the previous PP 305 model from 1955, but is significantly larger and features two drawers instead of three. The desk is currently only available new by special order, with a starting price of DKK 120,000 and a delivery time of one year.
Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) was a Danish furniture designer and one of the key figures of Danish modernism. He created more than 500 chairs and furniture pieces that combine functionality with elegant craftsmanship, being especially known for his iconic "Y Chair" and "Papa Bear Chair". Wegner's designs are highly valued for their timeless aesthetics and quality.
The desk has been carefully restored by a professional cabinetmaker, and the ash wood treated with soap. The soap finish brings out the natural grain of the wood, providing a smooth, matte look that combines beauty and functionality.
