Measurements: 80 x 80 x 100 cm.
Rocking chair of organic lines in the line of the Rocking Chairs designed by Vladimir Kagan in the 1950s. The design stands out for its sculptural conception and the prominence of the continuous curve, which articulates structure and base in a fluid and enveloping stroke. The silhouette, dynamic and elegant, responds to the principles of post-war American modernism, where ergonomics and formal expression are integrated in the same solution.
The richly grained, warm-toned rosewood structure enhances the sophisticated character of the ensemble. The curved leg and the organic integration of legs and armrests recall the formal vocabulary developed by Kagan, in which wood acquires both a structural and expressive dimension. The contrast with the light upholstery underscores the seat's volumetric purity and provides visual balance.
The piece conveys lightness despite the solidity of its materials, a distinctive feature of mid-20th century American organic design.
