Domine" lamp.
Polyethylene and chromed steel lampshade.

The Domine table lamp was conceived especially for the prestigious Domine Hotel, located in front of the iconic Guggenheim Bilbao. Its design responds to the needs of a space that combines functionality and aesthetics. In this work Javier Mariscal pays tribute to his admired Noguchi and Japanese lamps, with an organic and geometric style, beautiful and functional.
Javier Mariscal (Barcelona, 1950) is an industrial designer, cartoonist and comic artist, recognized for his creative and multidisciplinary approach. After studying at the Elisava School, he abandoned formal training to develop his own artistic language, starting in underground comics with publications such as El Rrollo Enmascarado and Star. His public notoriety began in 1979 with the logo of the Cel Ona Bar and was consolidated with the design of the Dúplex and its iconic stool, symbols of Spanish design in the eighties. Throughout his career, Mariscal has participated in international exhibitions such as the Memphis Group in Milan (1981), the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris (1987) and Documenta in Kassel. His character Cobi, mascot of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, became a global success. Founder of Estudio Mariscal in 1989, he has collaborated with leading architects and designers and developed visual identities for entities such as the Swedish Socialist Party, Onda Cero, the Barcelona Zoo, the University of Valencia or the Lighthouse center in Glasgow.
In 1999 he received the National Design Award and, in 2002, he signed the integral design of the Gran Hotel Domine Bilbao, reflecting the history of 20th century design. In recent years, he has worked with Fernando Salas on projects such as Calle 54 Club and the Hotel Puerta de América, consolidating his legacy as one of the most influential creators of contemporary Spanish design.
