The Chincheta coffee table is a piece that translates an essential geometric gesture into an object of great formal clarity. Inspired by the decomposition of the circle, its design is based on a disk that is structurally resolved into three points of support, evoking the graphic synthesis of a thumbtack. This apparently simple operation contains a rigorous reflection on balance, stability and economy of means. Its refined, geometrically rooted aesthetic connects with the tradition of industrial design.
The piece is the work of the tandem formed by brothers Óscar Devesa and Sergi Devesa, who trained at the School of Arts and Crafts and the School of Design between 1981 and 1983. In 1987 they founded D&D Design, a studio from which they have developed product design projects with a markedly industrial character and have created exhibition spaces. Their trajectory includes lighting, domestic and office furniture, collaborating with firms such as Metalarte, Disform, Blauet, Supergrif, Oken, Grober, Dessié, Grupo Líneas TC, Seiak, Bike-Romanes, Arkos Light, Forma 5, Ferfor, Exit Seating Barcelona and Bover, among others.
